A word from the 5-year-old

Ella: "So adults just wish they could be kids again and kids just wish they could be adults? Everybody just wants to be what they aren't?"

Me: "Yeah, I guess so."

Ella: "Hmm. Well, maybe everybody should just be happy with who they are right when they are that."

Damn, kid.

Perhaps I'm strange, or perhaps it's just a symptom of my refusal to grow up, but I've never really wanted to be a kid again.

Thought I'm pretty sure my Dad would be happy if I reverted to being a gorgeous blonde two-year-old again - back when I hero-worshipped him and never talked back. ;)

Still, what's with kids having all the wisdom and shit? That just ain't fair!

You should have told her, "Kiddo, it's easy to be happy with what you are, but it takes years of training to be happy with what you aren't!"

GC - I never did either, til I had children. Only then did I realise what a sweet deal they really get.

Miss - Thanks hon. Having a morning from hell this morning, so I need all the luck I can get!!

Mr Anon - You do realise your true calling is writing greeting cards, don't you? ;-)
